ASIS Certifications

ASIS administers three internationally accredited certification programs. The Certified Protection Professional (CPP) indicates board certification in security management, and is widely recognized as the highest designation accorded a security practitioner. Two specialty certifications are available: the Professional Certified Investigator (PCI) and the Physical Security Professional (PSP).

 
Advocacy

ASIS represents the interests of the security management profession to business, the media, government entities and the public.

 
ASIS Standards and Guidelines

The ASIS Commission on Standards and Guidelines is the promulgating body within ASIS International to develop security management standards and guidelines. The commission works with numerous national and international standards-setting organizations to advance security practices worldwide through the development of standards and guidelines within a voluntary, non-proprietary and consensus-based process utilizing the knowledge, experience and expertise of ASIS membership and the security industry. ASIS is an ANSI-accredited Standards Developing Organization.

Volunteer Councils

ASIS' 31 councils serve the membership through identification of information regarding security issues in specific concentrations. Council topics range from Educational Institutions to Crisis Management and Business Continuity, and from Crime and Loss Prevention to Global Terrorism, Political Instability and International Crime.

 

ASIS Foundation

Incorporated in 1966. The ASIS International Foundation is a charitable corporation that provides scholarships and conducts research on the security industry. The ASIS Foundation funds and manages endowments for a wide range of academic, strategic and professional development activities; sponsors security industry reports and research.
